Differences and Adjustments Between Left-Folding and Right-Folding Modules
Left-folding and right-folding are two mainstream structures for lateral motor mounting of lead screw slide
modules. The core differences lie in spatial adaptation, transmission path, and debugging logic, and adjust
ment operations also have clear standardized procedures.
The core difference is primarily in spatial layout: in left-folding, the motor connects to the lead screw from
the left side of the module via a coupling; in right-folding, the motor connects from the right side of the mo
dule. Both significantly shorten the axial length of the module, adapting to compact automated equipment.
The only difference is the direction of motor extension, which can be flexibly chosen based on the internal
piping layout and the need to avoid interference with adjacent components. In terms of transmission char
acteristics, the core performance parameters are completely identical, without changing the module's load
capacity, repeatability, or operating speed. Only the orientation of the motor wiring port and accessories
shifts synchronously with the installation direction.
The standardized adjustment process consists of five steps: First, flatten the motor shims onto the motor
flange to ensure even force distribution on the mounting surface. Second, before installing the drive pulley,
insert the motor mounting plate according to the selected left/right folding direction. A standard flat key
must be pre-installed on the motor shaft end to prevent slippage. Third, install the drive pulley into the
motor shaft, but do not tighten the motor mounting screws yet. Adjust the parallelism of the drive and
driven pulleys, and tighten the pulley locking screws after confirming that the end faces of the two pulleys
are completely aligned. Fourth, install the synchronous belt onto the two pulleys, and use the tensioning
blocks to pull the motor mounting plate outwards to adjust the belt tension to a state that is neither too
loose nor too tight. Then tighten all motor mounting screws. Fifth, install the outer cover and manually rota
te the slide table through its entire stroke. Once confirmed to be free of jamming or abnormal noise, the
adjustment is complete.
After adjustment, verify the module's operating status to ensure even belt tension and no uneven wear or
abnormal noise before putting it into use.
